1. Who we are
This website, kaption.io, is operated by Kaption Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales and based in London, UK. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at hz@kaption.io.
2. What we collect
We collect only what is needed to run this website and respond to you.
- Demo requests. When you submit the demo request form we collect your name, work email address and, if you provide them, your company and a short message. We also record the time of submission and the page it was sent from.
- Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the email and any information you include in it.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical information about requests to the site, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and operational purposes.
- Aggregate analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
This site does not set tracking cookies and does not run advertising trackers. Fonts are served from our own domain.
3. How we use it and on what basis
- To respond to your demo request or enquiry. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and, where applicable, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep the site secure and available, and to understand which pages are read. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure, useful service.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making about you.
4. How long we keep it
- Demo request and correspondence data: for as long as we are in an active conversation with you, and for up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Server logs: retained by our hosting provider for a limited period in line with its standard retention, typically no more than 30 days.
5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Vercel Inc. hosts this website, processes server logs and provides the aggregate analytics.
- Resend delivers the notification email that a demo request generates.
These providers are based in, or may process data in, the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or on a UK adequacy decision where one applies. We may also disclose personal data where required by law.
6. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email hz@kaption.io. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
7. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes to how we use your data will be highlighted here.
